So you think you want a Green Iguana huh? Well, think again.

This site will show you what happens due to "IG"NORANCE.

These Iguanas have been through a living hell all because someone wanted one.
Yes! they are cool to see.
Yes! they are wild.
Yes! they are supposed to live in the wild not captivity.
Yes! You should leave them there.

I rescue Iguanas from numerous places and work very close with a pet store owner.

He will call me when he gets an iggy that is ill, weak, unwanted or just unable to be sold due to temperament and or appearance. But someone wanted it.

Iguanas are NOT good pets to give to kids and are NOT good to have multiples of.
They are very territorial and just plain out do not like other iggys.

As humans we should respect the nature of life. As humans, we are also curious.

We should learn to live together in our own habitat and lifestyle. They are not meant to be combined.

If you still feel the need to purchase an iggy, please contact a shelter or rescue.
We need all the help we can get and will teach you what you need to know to prevent the iggy from returning.

Remember the iggy can live almost as long as you, 20 years plus depending if proper care is provided and as long or even longer than you, up to 6 feet.

Please research diets and care before you adopt. We will rehab one if needed but only you can prevent the need.

It is truly sad that humans can cause this much damage to an animal whose beauty is untouchable and pain endured is indescribable.

Love the green guys, but do it from a distance if you're unsure.
